Referrals from Healthcare Professionals

Patient Referrals from GPs

At Private Psychiatry we take pride in the level of service we provide to both GPs who refer their patients to us and the patients themselves. We can usually see your patient within one or two weeks and often the same week as the referral is received.  Our consultants will assess your patient, provide a diagnosis and develop a treatment plan which we will communicate with you.  We will ensure you are kept fully informed of your patient’s progress.

Dr Adrian Winbow and Prof Anthony Hale treat patients with a wide variety of common mental health conditions including patients with medically unexplained symptoms. Dr Winbow has particular expertise in the diagnosis of affective disorders, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Somatoform Disorder. Prof Hale has been involved in the development of modern treatments for depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, as well as specialising in the treatment of mood disorders, psychosis and ADHD.

If psychological therapy is a part of your patient’s treatment plan, we can refer to an appropriate therapist. We work closely with ThinkCBT, a private practice of qualified psychotherapists who offer therapists in clinics in London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

We accept referrals from both NHS and private GPs for both insured and self-funding patients.  Private Psychiatry is recognised by all the major insurance providers.

Patient Referrals from Consultants

We regularly receive referrals from both private and NHS consultants including gastroenterologists, cardiologists, neurologists and endocrinologists for psychiatric assessments on patients.

Our consultants are experts in diagnosing conditions such as stress, anxiety and depression in patients with both chronic and acute illnesses as well as Somatoform Disorder.
