We are currently offering online appointments via one of the secure video call options below. Existing patients have the additional option of a telephone appointment for follow-up appointments. It is important that your first appointment with your consultant is a video appointment in order for him to fully assess you and for him to get to know you and for you to get to know him better. You will be offered the option of either telephone or online for any subsequent appointments.
When booking your appointment, please let us know which of the following you would prefer.
Available via your smartphone (iOS and Android), tablet or desktop/laptop computer. If you are using a desktop/laptop computer, you will require access to a web camera with microphone. The Skype software can be downloaded free of charge from the internet (www.skype.com/en). You will need to register for an account and Skype username. These are available free of charge.
Please provide your Skype username when booking your appointment. Your psychiatrist will contact you via Skype at the appointed time. Please note, Prof Hale does not offer Skype appointments.
Available via your smartphone (iOS and Android), tablet or desktop/laptop computer. If you are using a desktop/laptop computer, you will require access to a web camera with microphone. You do not need to have an account to receive a Zoom call, but you will need to be connected to the internet via your device. Although not necessary, a copy of the Zoom application can be downloaded free of charge from the internet (www.zoom.us).
Please provide the email address you would like to be contacted on when booking your appointment. An email will be sent to you in advance of your appointment with a link to your appointment and a password to access your appointment. Shortly before the time of your appointment, click on the link in the email which will take you to the Zoom website/application, and enter the password (from the email) when prompted. Click ‘Join With Video’ and then ‘Call with Internet Audio’. The psychiatrist will then connect to you. Please ensure that your microphone is switched on and the volume is also on as these are common errors.
Available if you have an Apple iPhone, Apple iPad or Apple Mac computer. FaceTime software is installed as standard on all of these devices, or can be downloaded free of charge from the Apple Store - and is free to use.
Please provide us with the mobile telephone number or email address connected to your FaceTime/Apple account you would like the psychiatrist to contact you on when booking your appointment. The psychiatrist will contact you at the appointed time.
