Dr Winbow is a general adult consultant psychiatrist in Kent, Surrey and London and specialises in the treatment of:
Dr Winbow has over 30 years' experience as a consultant psychiatrist within the NHS and private sectors. He has held senior positions within private medical and psychiatric hospitals as well as providing clinics throughout the South East of England.
He is fully trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Counselling and Hypnotherapy as well as being an advanced EMDR therapist.
He is a member of the Association of European Psychiatrists (AEP) and a member of the Federation of Independent Practitioner Organisations (FIPO). Dr Winbow is a former member of the General Medical Council’s panel of Psychiatric Examiners and Assessors and sat on Fitness to Practice Panels as a Specialist Advisor. He is Medical Advisor for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, a Clinical Advisor at the General Pharmaceutical Council and a Specialist Advisor for the Care Quality Commission.

Prof Hale has 30 years' experience as a consultant psychiatrist and holds specialist registration in general adult and forensic psychiatry within the NHS working within inpatient forensic and low secure psychiatry and outpatient mood disorder, tertiary opinion, adult ADHD and PTSD clinics, and has twice held the post of Medical Director of NHS Trusts. He was a senior lecturer at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals and in 1994 was appointed as Professor and academic head of department at Sheffield University and later the University of Kent, where he is now Emeritus Professor of Mental Health.
Prof Hale has been involved in developing modern treatments for depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia and mentally disordered offenders. He has provided numerous legal reports for the courts. He has run academic second opinion clinics in mood disorders, psychosis, ADHD and psychiatric occupational health and regularly teaches on these topics in the UK and internationally.
Prof Hale is fully trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Psychotherapy and psychoeducation groups for depression and bipolar disorders.
He is a member of the British Association of Psychopharmacology, the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP) and a member of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine.
